The "Something" That's Behind Blessings, Success, And Significance

There's a particular "something" that all truly blessed, successful, and significant people have...

Because of the inherent desire that's in all of us to be blessed, successful, and significant there are many who have studied, researched, and sought to find out what exactly it is in those rare people who are truly blessed, successful, and significant. People have spent years trying to find out...and when they are done, they come back and tell us about traits, characteristics, and behaviors such as:

  • Vision
  • Courage
  • Confidence
  • Action
  • Skills
  • Knowledge
  • Wisdom
  • Etc.

These all sound good...these are all important...but, where does a person get these at?

Where do these come from?

How does one acquire these so that they can gain blessings, success, and significance?

Well, I've got good news for you...there IS a "something" that's deeper than all of these traits, characteristics and behaviors...there is a "something" that's behind all of these and when a person has this "something" all of these other traits, characteristics, and behaviors automatically and naturally flow out of it.

Because you're here reading this, you get to find out what it is...

The "something" that truly blessed, successful, and significant people have is an unshakeable belief in the goodness, nearness, friendliness, and supportiveness of the Lord to them. They are fully persuaded that God has good plans, intentions, and desires for them and they can't wait to do something so that goodness can begin to materialize and manifest in their life.

When you are in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ and you have THIS belief resonating at the very core of who you are, THEN, vision, courage, confidence, action, etc. just naturally and automatically flow through you.

Stated differently, when you genuinely believe that the Spirit of the Living God wants to flow to and through you for good, and operate accordingly, then you will naturally and automatically exhibit the characteristics that bring about blessings, success, and significance.

King David...the killer of Goliath...the man after God's own heart...had this. We can see it in scriptures like this one:

"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." Psalms 27:13

But, here's the kicker...many people believe that God is good...but just not to them. Many people believe that God is near...to others. There are those who believe that God is friendly and supportive...of somebody else.

And with this belief, they BLOCK God's goodness in their own lives.

You'll hear these people complaining about the economy...about lack of opportunity...about limited resources...and they deny the power of God in their lives.

You don't believe me?

Well, what are you going to do with God's Word that says:

"the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD." Psalms 33:5

And...

"the goodness of God endureth continually." Psalms 52:1

And...

"we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy [God's] house" Psalms 65:4

You know what I think?

I think you're better than the way you've been thinking and believing up until now. I think it's time for you to look at the following verse in a new way:

"Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?" Romans 2:4

Are you guilty of not believing that God's goodness applies to you?

If so, I encourage you to repent...to ask the Lord to forgive you for your unbelief (Mark 9:24) and begin to REALLY believe in the goodness of God towards YOU!

Your blessings, success, and significance depends upon it.

Peace, love, and blessings,
Lane

Would you like for someone to give you money?

There was a certain man who was asking for money.

He really was in a difficult predicament. Circumstances and conditions were hard for him.

They had been for a long, long time.

No relief was in site.

And right now, all he wanted was for some one to give him some money.

THAT would make his situation better, he believed.

You can read more about this man in Acts Chapter 3 and what you'll find out is that...

Money WAS NOT what he needed.

Oh sure, he could have easily found a way to spend and dispose of whatever money was given to him – but money wasn't what he needed the most.

What he needed was a HEALING.

If you'll receive it...

If you really want help...

If you genuinely want to turn your affairs around for the better...

You don't need money either. What you need is a healing...a healing in the area of money beliefs and perspectives...a healing in your mindset about money...a healing in the way you want to "get" money.

You need a healing from that socialistic mindset that wants someone else to "give" you money...to "bail" you out of your problems...your troubles...your conditions and circumstances...

Which is the same thing as saying you want someone to RELIEVE you from the CONSEQUENCES of your choices...your perspectives...your beliefs...your attitude...your actions and inactions...ALL OF WHICH WOULD PUT YOU RIGHT BACK INTO THE SAME SITUATION YOU ARE IN RIGHT NOW EVEN IF SOMEONE DID "GIVE" YOU MONEY.

In fact, it's not at all unusual for people who have been "gifted" bailout money to end up in conditions and circumstances that are WORSE than the ones they are in right now.

Here is your healing if you really want it...

Money is compensation for value and service rendered.

Provide little value or service and receive little money.

Provide much value or service and receive much money.

But, the money isn't what's important.

What's important is the benefit that your value and service brings to people's lives.

In providing value and service, you're HELPING people.

By helping people, you FIT IN with God's design and plan for mankind.

Yesterday, a friend reminded me of when we were boys...

The widow women we knew didn't sit around down and out and poor.

Instead, they WORKED!

One of them made handmade quilts that were of such excellent craftsmanship and design that they were SOLD before she could finish them...and in fact, she had a back-list of requests that constantly kept her several months "behind".

Another one made and delivered mouthwatering homemade pies, cakes, and desserts for families that didn't have time to make their own. And, they sure beat the stale, bland, chemical-laden options that were available at the grocery store.

Yet another one took the little bit of money her deceased husband left her and built a greenhouse which she soon leveraged into a booming year-around business of providing families with FRESH, HEALTHY vegetables that were of better quality than what a person could get at any local grocery store.

I guess you could say that people did give these widow-women money...and people were happy to give it to them...because they were getting something of value back.

These widow-women didn't lack for money. In fact, they hired young men and women in the church so that even more money was flowing to and through them.

What about you?

What do you have to give to people for money besides a bunch of empty, windy promises of "I'll pay you back when..."

You may be way "upside down"...you may be way in debt...with huge bills staring you in the face.

It doesn't matter.

All that matters is that you find some way to provide value and service to people...

And, that you find a way PRONTO!

Ask God in prayer what's the best way for you right now.

It may be something that you only do for a while. It may be something you do for the rest of your life. Just keep your focus on providing value and service and you'll end up doing the right things. God will lead you in the right direction if you'll let him (Isaiah 49:18).

Tell those that you owe what you're doing to turn things around for yourself...so that you can both pay them off plus accrued interest AND create a better life for yourself and your family.

They'll work with you. If they see that you're genuinely working at doing something to provide value and service they'll carry you.

It's when they see you sitting around wanting something for nothing that they become unwilling to work with you.

Quit wanting money.

Be a searcher, seeker, and implementer of ways to provide value or service.

Provide it in whatever way you can.

Provide it in such a way that there's something REMARKABLE, SPETACULAR, INCREDIBLE, or AMAZING about it.

It really is as simple as this. The "hard" part is actually doing the WORK. The "hard" part is overcoming your "fear of failure" and your "fear of people". The "hard" part overcoming your "fear of rejection" and going ahead and stepping out into the world of people and offering your value to them.

Now, it may take some time.

That's ok. The time was going to pass anyway.

Undoubtedly, there are certain hardships, mishaps, or "disadvantages" in your past. Maybe, you've brought them forward with you into your present.

That's good. Those "disadvantages" contain your unique advantage so that you can provide value in a way that's remarkable and special. Besides, every other person who's ever "made it" had their own set of "disadvantages" that they got past just like you can.

There will be failures and setbacks along the way.

That's ok. Don't worry about them. They don't define you. They aren't the "end". They are merely "educational devices" so that you learn what you need to learn. This is God's way of directing you into providing the precise, specific value that people really want.

There will be times when it "seems" like nothing is working.

That's when you maintain your Faith in God and REFINE your ideas about serving and providing value to people. As you continue doing the WORK of your "part", God will do His part behind the scenes. If you don't quit and give up, you'll soon enough see that is true.

Your life will never be the same.

You'll never "want" money again.

One more really important thing...

Watch out for the people who take it upon themselves to tell you this won't work for you. Oh, they'll have their "proof". They'll have all these "horror" stories where "someone" they know tried to step out and be a provider of value and "lost" everything. (Notice how it's usually someone else as most of these nay-sayers have never had the courage, faith, and trust in God to actually try anything for themselves.)

Watch out for these kinds of people lest you join their ranks of those who are AFRAID to go do the WORK and you waste your life away having never accomplished or achieved anything meaningful.

But, you ask, who's really right? Me or "them"?

Look to your Bible for your answer.

Can you find anywhere in the Bible where it tells you that you'll "lose everything" if you strive to provide greater value (LOVE) to people?

No?

Is there any place in your Bible that tells you God will forsake you and abandon you if you're genuinely serving Him and loving (SERVING) people?

No?

Well, there's your answer.

But of course, if your FAITH is that you'll fail and lose all...well, then you have obligated God to give you that.

But, if your FAITH is that you'll do your best to provide value and God will take care of everything else...well, God will do that for you too.

Peace, love, and blessings,
Lane

How To Manifest A Miracle

I hope this really inspires you...

I hope this really encourages you, builds your hope, and increases your faith...

All too often, people have a problem...maybe its money, health, or a relationship...

And they start dwelling on what they DON'T have and what they THINK they need.

They GENERATE a lot of unpleasant feelings as they dwell on these things.

They think they need someone to give them some money.

They think they need a better doctor.

They think they need a different husband or wife.

Actually, they don't really need any of these "needs". These are all SECONDARY "needs". These are all DERIVATIVES of the PRIMARY NEED...

The primary NEED is to be in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ and to obey God rather than men.

Let's explore...

Most people know about the scripture that says, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33)

There's a BIG difference between knowing ABOUT something and KNOWING something.

That's why it's so important that we spend significant time STUDYING they Bible and SEEKING the truth's Jesus said are HIDDEN from the carnal person.

Now, we're ready to go deeper...

Let's look at the Biblical account of Jesus' first miracle in John chapter 2.

Verse 3 says, "They have NO wine."

So, right off the bat, we see a LACK problem. We find that there is a significant need.

What about you? Do you have a LACK problem? Do you have a significant need?

Do you – like the people in this story – have need of a miracle?

Well, God is a God of miracles...but miracles are at the END of the line...not at the FRONT!

Witness verse 5 that says, "Whatsoever he saith unto you, DO IT."

Uh oh...there's the real clincher...YOU HAVE GOT TO DO SOMETHING FIRST!

That's why I say you don't need someone to give you money. You don't need a better doctor. You don't need a different husband or wife. YOU NEED A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST WHERE GOD WILL SPEAK THE WORD TO YOUR HEART AND MIND OF WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.

It's AFTER you start DOING whatever it is that God speaks to your heart to do that the miraculous can occur.

But, you've got to DO what God tells you to DO with FULL PASSION AND INTENSITY.

In verse 7 we read, "And they filled them up to the brim." The servants in this story didn't half-way fill the pots that Jesus commanded them to fill. THEY FILLED THEM ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP. They put all they could into what they were doing. They went all the way.

Now, AND ONLY NOW, do we finally get to God's part...

Verse 9 says, "and knew not whence it was".

Somewhere, between DOING their part of filling the water pots and taking them out to the wedding party the miraculous power of God took over the work of their hands and blessed it – and the water became wine.

Right now, do you know how God is going to work everything out in your life and in your situation?

In most cases, the answer is, "I don't have a clue", right?

But, that doesn't matter...as you DO what the Lord has told you to do THEN, AND ONLY THEN will the miraculous come out of that which is unseen and unknown BY US – BUT WHICH IS FULLY SEEN AND FULLY KNOWN BY GOD!

It's true!

It really is. This is how it works.

Get a close look at verse 11, "This beginning of miracles did Jesus...and MANIFESTED FORTH HIS GLORY"

God WANTS TO MANIFEST FORTH HIS GLORY IN YOUR LIFE.

Do you realize that?

Can you really, truly, fully grasp that God really does want to do the wonderful and miraculous in your life?

But, it's about YOU and God...just the two of you.

You don't need something from someone else. You don't need other people to do something or give you something.

Right now, God isn't the least interested in someone doing whatever it is that you think they ought to do or that you want them to do.

Right now, God isn't the least interested in someone giving you whatever it is that you think you want them to give you.

Sure, when God ultimately performs the miraculous, it will probably involve other people that God has orchestrated to be a part your blessing...

But, like I said, that's all SECONDARY AND INCIDENTAL to the primary thing...

You having the kind of relationship with God where He will speak to your heart what He wants YOU to do and you OBEYING His voice.

That's what it's all about.

Moreover, as you are DOING what God has spoken to your heart to do, inevitably you'll be helping and blessing other people.

That's a good thing...

"Whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:8)

When you fully get this concept of you doing your part so that God can do his part, your life will never, ever be the same.

It will never be the same because you'll no longer waste time waiting around for a miracle.

You'll never again sit around unhappy because someone else isn't doing something or giving you something.

Instead, you'll quickly start seeking whatever it is that God wants you to do and you'll do it as unto the Lord, knowing that in the unseen and the unknown, the Power of God will begin working to bless abundantly that which you are doing...and you'll proceed with full confidence, with full faith that THE MIRACULOUS IS GOING TO HAPPEN in due process of time.

Don't be bothered by how small your start is.

Don't let the small scale of things right now frustrate you when you can envision things on a much grander scale.

Scale is God's business not yours.

When God is ready...when God has got YOU ready...then He will scale things up to bigger proportions. You don't have to worry about that.

All you have to do is OBEY and DO whatever it is that God speaks to your heart to do. Everything else will be taken care of by God.

Isn't that wonderful to know?

Doesn't that release a lot of pressure off of you?

Can you step into the freedom of LETTING God lead you by speaking to your heart what it is He wants you to DO?

Can you relax into the peace and joy of knowing that as you do your part, God will do His part?

Peace, love, and blessings,
Lane

Let's talk about "Mustard Seed" faith...

I cannot count the number of people I've encountered who want someone ELSE (or something ELSE like the lottery) to give them their first million so that they can THEN go do something in the Kingdom of God.

Unfortunately for these folks, they either don't realize – or don't want to realize – that what they want doesn't line up with God's Word.

They are unaware that they are WORKING AGAINST themselves because they are trying to do things CONTRARY to God's Word.

Consider these scriptures:

"Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof." Matthew 13:31-32

"And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it." Mark 4:30-32

"Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into HIS garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it." Luke 13:18-19

In these verses, we can see that things that are blessed of God START with something SMALL that is PLANTED in OUR garden (ministered in our ministry) so that God can bless it and cause it to GROW and BECOME something GREAT.

The problem is, many people are unwilling to humble themselves DOWN to the point where they can start SMALL so that God can do HIS work of GROWING something GREAT in their lives.

They FEAR what other people will think of them and in PRIDE they refuse to humble themselves to a "low estate". And that's such a shame because the rewards are HUGE for those who let go of their "people" consciousness and embrace a "God" consciousness.

That's part one. Here's part two...

Lots of people talk about these two verses:

"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20

"And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you." Luke 17:6

Now, I'm sure you can agree with me that lots of people want this kind of faith where they can just SAY, "Give me money" and money will come to them. But, as Jesus told us in Matthew 4:4 and in Luke 4:4, we've got to LIVE according to the entire Word of God.

What this means is that we need to connect the preceding scriptures of starting small with scriptures like:

"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38

"Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord" Ephesians 6:8

WHEN people make this connection, THEN they'll have something that will REALLY WORK in their lives.

Here's the thing; I don't care who you are and I don't care what you DON'T have...

EVERYBODY has SOMETHING – however small it may be – that they can give as unto the Lord – they have something they can plant in the Kingdom of God.

Which means; the sooner you start giving and planting, the sooner you start ministering in your ministry, the sooner you can SPEAK to that which you've given, planted, and ministered, the sooner God can bless it to become something great.

Peace, love, and blessings,
Lane Fox

It’s Time for You to Start Being More UNreasonable…

You can’t always avoid seeing the unpleasant, the undesirable, the problem, the trouble, the negative, or the bad.

You can’t always avoid hearing about it either.

Sometimes, it even “hits home” – right in the middle of your affairs, conditions, and circumstances.

But, YOU DON’T HAVE TO RECEIVE IT!

You don’t have to tune in to it.

You don’t have to accept it.

You don’t have to embrace it.

Open up your Bible and flip over to the 4 short chapters in the book of Philippians. Notice some of the amazing verses in there…

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it…

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Now really think about that…

Here is Paul the Apostle is in a Roman prison – and history tells us that these Roman cells were essentially sewage pits – and yet, he’s telling himself and us to think on NOTHING but GOOD things.

That’s what I’m talking about…Yes, Paul was in a bad situation but he wasn’t embracing it. He definitely was not tuning in to it.

In fact, if you weren’t really paying attention, you wouldn’t even realize from reading Philippians that Paul is in prison.

What about you?

What are you tuned in to?

What are you embracing?

If a friend were to call you up and ask you, “How’s it going?” what would come out of your mouth?

The truth is that the good you desire DEPENDS upon you living by Paul’s words, “if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

In other words, if there’s good in it, think about it. Dwell upon it. But, if there’s nothing good about it, then REFUSE TO GIVE IT ANY MENTAL ENERGY!

Don’t think about it. Don’t tell people about it. Just delete it from your mind and turn the focus and the attention of your mind to the good that you desire.

Now, some people say to me, “That’s not even reasonable!”

My response is, “You’re right. God has called us to be “unreasonable” when it comes to living our lives – because the person that’s living their life with their faith placed firmly in God does refuse and reject what they don’t want and firmly embraces their firm belief that God will bring about the Good that they desire – or something better.”

In reading the Gospels, you repeatedly find Jesus “getting on” to people because they weren’t being “unreasonable” enough to believe God for good in the midst of the bad.

It’s time for you to start being more “unreasonable”…the good you desire depends upon it!

No matter what your external conditions and circumstances...

Think the good that you desire.

Speak the good that you desire.

Act the good that you desire.

Today is a PERFECT day for you to start being more UNreasonable!

Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Lane Fox

Here’s Where The Money’s At…

In light of the current economic crises and the news media’s endless shouting of troubles, problems, failures, unrest, doom and gloom…

Today is a perfect day for me to remind you…

The Lord is your source and supply – He always has been, always will be – and God’s abundant supply is independent of and in spite of any world, national, regional, or local condition or situation.

Let [men and women] trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon [their] God.” Isaiah 50:10

Contrary to what the enemy of good is constantly suggesting (remember, he’s out to steal, kill, and destroy wherever he can), it pays to live your life trusting in the goodness and supply of the Lord because…

He that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat [blessed and successful].” Proverbs 28:25

In all the noise, commotion, and chaos coming from the world, have you kind of forgotten this?

My friend, God’s calling to you…

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear [love, respect, and reverence] the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear [love, respect, and reverence] him. The young lions [covetous and greedy people of the world] do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.” Psalms 34:8-10

Have you ever waited out a rainstorm from underneath a dry shelter? That’s what it’s like for the person who’s in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ…

I [the Lord thy God] have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand.” Isaiah 51:16

Isn’t that wonderful?

Nevertheless, this IS a time for you to be careful and wise.

The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly [trouble and problems].” Proverbs 14:24

This IS a time to put away foolishness…

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.” Proverbs 19:3

What does that mean?

So many people are looking for great gain – without providing a corresponding level of value and service to mankind. It’s this kind of foolishness that perverts people’s life – and then they find themselves fretting against the Lord because of all the trouble they’re in – that they put themselves into.

Similarly…

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.” 1 Timothy 6:9

This verse isn’t talking about money being a bad thing – money is nothing more than a medium of exchange for goods, services, and value – and providing value and service and being compensated and rewarded accordingly is an indisputably God-ordained principle and concept.

What this verse is talking about is people TRYING TO LIVE BEYOND THEIR MEANS!

People driving automobiles that are more expensive than they can really afford.

People who live in homes they can’t really afford.

People who are "upside down" in all or most of their financial affairs.

Do you see that?

It’s also talking about people who WANT A LOT FOR SOMETHING LITTLE.

That’s what’s been going on strong for a long time – especially the last 15 – 20 years…

Individuals, corporations, and even governments handing over any extra money they can scrape together to OTHERS (the stock market, etc) and telling them, “Make me rich – without any real effort or rendering of service on my part.”

As we can see and hear all around us, this doesn’t work on a long-term basis.

The only reliable, sustainable, and God-ordained way to turn a dime into a dollar is to take that dime and infuse it with your God-given creative mind, talents, abilities, and skills such that it provides a REAL dollar worth of value and service to people.

To their own misfortune, too many people are trying to just get a dollar out of a dime.

So again…

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.” Proverbs 9:6

One last thing…

This IS a time to make sure there’s nothing but Jesus – nothing but good – inside of us…

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:21-23

Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Romans 8:9

And, if we have the Spirit of Christ inside of us, then we also have available to us…

The supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:19

My friend, God's way is the good way! It always has been and always will be.

Here’s what I want you to hold in your thoughts as you go about your day…

  1. Let’s go back to trusting in God as our source and our supply
  2. Let’s get in right relationship with God through Jesus Christ
  3. Let’s put away the foolish notion of wanting a lot for a little and start providing real value and real service and thereby EARN real compensation.

If You Want To Be Big… (A Lesson on Mustard Seed Faith)

Lots of people have read about mustard seed faith (Matthew 13:31-32, Matthew 17:20, Mark 4:32-32, Luke 13:19, Luke 17:6)

Lots of people like to talk about mustard seed faith.

Few people who are willing to BECOME mustard seed faith…

Few people are willing to “go backwards” when it comes to material things. Few people are willing to let themselves, their circumstances, their finances, or their lifestyle become small so that God can make and grow them into something big and fruitful.

God has ordained things to start out SMALL.

Often, things start out EXTREMELY small.

In nature, a seed is planted. It’s so small and insignificant. Compared to the full-grown “giants” that are all around it, it’s hard to imagine that this one little seed even matters – let alone that it could ever make a difference.

But, the seed doesn’t concern itself with such burdening, limiting thoughts.

It just begins the germinating process by absorbing miniscule amounts of moisture and nutrients from the soil that’s around it.

Compared to the resources of the surrounding “giants”, the resources of the tiny seed is almost laughable.

But again, the seed doesn’t waste it’s time making such non-useful comparisons.

By drawing upon that which is available to it with the small strength that it has, it soon enough starts a root. Now, it’s a little bigger and has a little more strength. Now, it can draw a little more moisture and it can draw even more nutrients from the soil.

It doesn’t worry about what others around it are doing. It just keeps doing all it can do with all it has available to it.

Before long, a sprout pops out of the ground. Now, it can draw on even more resources such as sunshine.

Eventually, the little seed becomes one of the “giants” that contributes to the eco-systems of nature in a major way.

This is the way of God. This is how God has ordained things to work.

Do not be afraid of becoming small.

Do not be afraid of people seeing you in a low estate.

Do not be afraid of moving into a position where you’re now the “least”.

For in doing so, you place yourself firmly into the hands of God so that He can make you one of those who are among the “greatest”.

Concerning Your Predominant Thoughts…

Have you ever paused to consider what God thinks of your predominant thoughts?

That’s kind of important because the more negative, sour-minded, and unsuccessful a person is, the less attention they pay to what kinds of thoughts they have.

Conversely, the more successful a person is, the more carefully they monitor their thoughts to keep them positive.

Now, let me ask you this… Are you aware that God gets angry at people who have a negative mindset?

You can see that this is true for yourself in Deuteronomy 1:34 which says, “And the LORD heard the VOICE of your words, and was WROTH”.

Hmmm….the VOICE of your words…now, isn’t that interesting…

When we back up a few verses to Deuteronomy 1:27, we can read this, “And ye MURMURED in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.

The simple truth is, the people in this story were in a situation that THEY PERCEIVED AND INTERPRETED as difficult, unpleasant, and undesirable – and they began to think and talk negative about it.

What about you?

How do you start thinking and talking – both in private and in public – when you come face to face with a situation that you perceive and interpret as difficult, unpleasant, and undesirable?

Have you not yet learned that when you face something that you perceive and interpret as difficult, unpleasant, and undesirable, it’s because God has custom-built a personal growth plan for you – one that has important lessons and truths that He wants you to gain so that He can better glorify His name through you and bless and prosper you in the process?

That IS what God’s doing, you know.

Remember, watch what you think and say because the VOICE of your thoughts and words matters to God…He prefers you have the positive ones!

When God Sent Our Savior…

On that first Christmas, God sent His angels to announce the arrival of our infant Savior. At that same time, He had them remind you and me of His ever-consistent perspective towards us…

We can read it in Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

All glory belongs to God.

Of course, you realize that God blessed you with all that innate talent, potential, and possibility that you have just so you could become the person, acquire the resources, and do the things that enable you to give Him glory in a way that’s unique to you – unlike what anyone else could possibly give Him.

It’s wise to always remember that.

And, God has even more He wishes to tell you…

He wants you to have peace. He wants you to have happiness. He wants you to have fulfillment. He wants you to have good relationships. He wants you to be in good health. He wants you to enjoy the goodness and fullness of life. He wants you to abound to every good work. He wants you to be in right-standing with Him through Jesus Christ. He wants all this because He wants peace for you.

It’s wise to remember that too.

There was one more especially important thing…

God wants to expressly, specifically, and directly point out that He has only good intentions for you – that His thoughts towards you and His workings in your life are all for good will towards you.

Sometimes, it doesn’t seem that way, does it?

Maybe you’ve experienced bitter disappointment in 2007. Maybe you prayed for and expected a certain thing – but you didn’t get it.

I MUST tell you…hold to your faith in God. All disappointments, setbacks, and failures are false illusions – a mirage if you will.

Yes, I know, when you're beholding an illusion, it certainly seems real enough. But, as you go forward in faith, you'll begin to see it disappear so that you can experience the reality and the truth of God's goodness.

So again, go on in faith.

What if you still don't receive it?

That's when you let a HUGE smile break out on your face because the truth is, if you do not receive what you want, it’s because God has something so much better for you.

Sooner or later, you’ll come to see that the disappointments, setbacks, and failures were simply a prelude to a great victory or a great success in your life.

That’s why when things go awry, when things unexplainably fall apart, when it seems almost as if God Himself is working against you, do not be disappointed or upset. Do not begin to doubt God or question His goodness towards you.

Instead, give thanks to God for overriding your desires – for causing you to realize that your desires need to be bigger and grander – for His wanting a larger, more wonderful thing for you.

And then, when the goodness that God has for you shows up, you’ll be so happy that you DIDN’T get what you originally wished for.

You may not believe me right now. But, you’re about to find out for yourself that what I’m telling you is true.

One wise old gentleman looking back over the course of his life had this to say, “I thank God for every prayer He answered. I also thank Him for every prayer He DIDN’T answer because the ones He didn’t answer spared me from unforeseen trouble and grief.”

My friend, I sincerely wish you the happiest of Christmases. Also, I pray that 2008 will be your best year ever.

Peace, Love, and Blessings,

On the subject of useful perspectives...

Today, a person asked me the question, “Do you think that everyone has the same opportunities that you have had?” And then, indirectly, they asked me, “Do you think that everyone gets the same lucky breaks that you get?

I have to tell you… I’m always amazed at how strongly unsuccessful people believe that they get only the “UNlucky breaks” while simultaneously assuming that successful people must be successful because they get only the “lucky breaks”.

I’m fascinated by how they think that successful people have had it so easy and so good that they have no clue what it’s like in the “real” world for “normal” (i.e. unsuccessful) people.

In the Bible we find that it rains on the just and on the unjust.

In like fashion, lucky breaks AND UNlucky breaks happen to EVERYBODY!

That’s the simple, unvarnished truth.

What separates the successful from the unsuccessful is HOW they THINK about and WHAT they DO with BOTH the lucky and the UNlucky breaks.

In fact, having spent a lot of time with both successful and unsuccessful people my observation is that successful people have almost always went through far worse circumstances and situations than have unsuccessful people.

You don’t believe me?

While one’s level of money is certainly no gauge of whether they are successful or not, it will serve to illustrate my point. Go do a little background research on the Forbes 400 wealthiest people in America and you’ll find that most of them have been through gut-wrenching, heart-breaking circumstances that would cause many people to have a nervous meltdown.

And yet, when you listen to these people talk, you’d think they’d never had a bad break in their life – that everything was perfect and rosy for them…

EXACTLY!

That’s a part of why they’re so successful.

And, when you listen to the unsuccessful person talk, they tell you about how hard they’ve worked and how certain bad things have happened to them and how much they “deserve” a break…

EXACTLY!

That’s a part of why they’re so unsuccessful.

It’s a matter of perception…

Do you realize how critically important your perspective is?

The person who asked me the questions I quoted above also pointed out to me EXACTLY how many lending companies have gone out of business in the last year and how so many builders are going under and how no one is building homes. Their PERSPECTIVE was one that MATCHED and MIRRORED what they see, read, and hear in the news media.

In contrast, in a separate conversation with a successful person, he was talking about how much building he has going on and how he can’t even keep up with the demand and how he’s back-logged for easily the next year.

Incidentally, this person does NOT live in a “hot-bed”, “growth” area. He just does a really good job of marketing, sales, and customer service. When customers deal with him, they GET VALUE!

And, when I asked him of his opinion of all the bad news being broadcasted by the media, he told me, “I feel for those people who are going through all that stuff…but I myself don’t pay much attention to the news anymore…I used to…and when I did, my business would inevitably suffer. Now, I choose not to listen to all that and instead, I stay focused on doing all the simple, basic, and important things that I know I should be doing. And you know what? As I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing, my outcomes are 180 degrees opposite that being broadcasted in the news.

Friends, that’s POWERFUL!

That’s a USEFUL perspective, don’t you think?

Here's Your World News Report...

There’s something I need to tell you…

The spiritual realm is important. It’s wonderful to enjoy a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Did you know that God has prepared other realms for you to enjoy besides that?

Contrary to what you see on television, hear on the radio, read in the newspaper, or hear from people around you…

The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. (Psalms 33:5)”

Opportunity, abundance, wealth, riches, happiness, peace, loving relationships, wonderful friends, all of THE GOOD STUFF – it’s ALL there.

You may be asking, “Why did God create all this good stuff?”

You make me smile…

IT’S FOR YOU!

(If that’s not enough emphasis for you, then hear it in the words of a little kid; “It’s for you, dum-dum!”)

Maybe you’re feeling a little “poor” in all of this goodness. If so, I have some good news for you…

Thou, O God, hast prepared of thy goodness for the poor. (Psalms 68:10)”

Yes, all that other negative, nasty, yucky, unhappy stuff exists too…

It’s there for you to enjoy if that’s the sort of thing you enjoy…and many seemingly do since that’s what they devote all their time, attention, and energy to.

But what of the good stuff could you begin to enjoy right now? What of the goodness and fullness of life that God has created – just for you – could you begin to plan for its’ soon enjoyment?

If Fear Is Blocking You From The Good You Want…

So many people let fear of the “unknown” block them from the good that God has for them.

It’s unknown to them what will happen to them if they risk putting a little of themselves on the line for greater success. And so, they let themselves be blocked from the good they want.

It’s unknown what other people might say or do. And so, they let themselves be blocked from the good they want.

It’s unknown what they might have to do without for a little while or what hardship they may have to endure to enjoy greater rewards. And so, they let themselves be blocked from the good they want.

It’s unknown what the economy is going to do. And so, they let themselves be blocked from the good they want.

It’s unknown to them what…the list could go on forever.

Here’s what I want you to understand…

By recognizing that your fear is of the UNKNOWN, your fear becomes a KNOWN – which is all you need to know in order to break fears power over you.

See, by the simple act of noticing that you fear something unknown, you give yourself the ability to disassociate from it. If you’re able to notice it, you are able to separate yourself from it.

And, fear is not of God. Therefore, it’s not to be of you. Notice your fear. Disassociate from it. Move forward in faith.

Move forward trusting and knowing that God is a good God and that he has good intentions towards you and wonderful blessings that He is arranging for you to receive as time goes forward.

By the way, watch out for worry too.

Your imagination is just one of the many wonderful tools that God gave you to do good with – both for yourself and for others. Worry is what happens when you use this tool inappropriately to create, invent, and make up stuff to be in fear of.

Worry is another one of those things you can notice. And again, when you notice it, you can separate yourself from it. You can stop doing it. Then, you can begin to do something good with it – like God intended for you to do.

And, after you dissassociate and separate yourself from fear and worry, remember this: "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear (Hebrews 13:6)" and this: "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. (Psalms 118:6)".

Positive Thinking Is NOT Enough…

Positive thinking is concerned with the content of WHAT you think.

Those thoughts that are good and wholesome and beneficial for both yourself and others are positive.

All other thoughts are negative and should be eradicated from your mind.

Positive thinking is good.

Positive thinking is important.

Positive thinking is NOT enough.

To be wealthy, you need more...

You need a focused, no time for distractions, all waste of any kind must be eliminated, action-oriented, get started, get finished, get it packaged, tell everyone about it, sell it to everyone, successful-outcome expected kind of thinking.

WHAT you think is important.

HOW you think is even more important.

Remember, DOING something USEFUL with positive thoughts is more meaningful than just having positive thoughts.

If God’s So Good, Why All The Debt, Poverty, And Bad Things?

Over and over people come to my MillionairesForJesus.com website and they ask questions like:

  • “How do I break away from just over broke?”
  • “I want to help people but financially, I just can’t.”
  • “Why is it that non-Christians always have plenty of money?”
  • “How do I get out of debt?”
  • “Why do bad things happen to Christians?

To answer these questions, let me first ask you a question.

Have you ever wanted something?

Have you ever found yourself wanting to do, be, or have a certain thing?

Let’s take a closer look at this phenomenon of “WANT”.

Psalms 34:10 – “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not WANT any GOOD thing.

WANT is another word for LACK.

LACK is not of God.

No matter where you are at or what your situation, it’s not God’s will for you to LACK.

For example, in Deuteronomy 2:7 – “For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

This makes it clear that even in “wilderness” times in life, we aren’t to lack in any area of our life.

If we look at Exodus 16:35 and Deuteronomy 29:5 we see that during "wilderness" times we may not get to eat exactly what we want, we may have a limited wardrobe, and we may wear the same pair of shoes a little longer than we would like, but we won’t lack the things that we have need of.

Now, let’s consider Deuteronomy 8:9 – “[The promised land,] A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass.

In this verse, we see that during the “promised land” times of life, we have abundance, we have everything we want, AND, we have unlimited opportunities that we can “dig” into.

Within God’s way, whether times are “good” or times are “bad” we will not lack.

Isn’t that exciting?

So, why do so many Christians find themselves wanting and lacking?

It’s because they aren’t doing things in accordance with God’s Word.

Perhaps King David said it best of all in Psalms 23:1 – “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not WANT.

King David is saying that he absolutely will not allow himself to WANT anything.

That seems kind of strange, doesn’t it? Why would King David not allow himself to WANT anything?

It’s because he understood that the mind has a few funny quirks in the way that it works.

Let’s explore…

Stop!

Now, carefully and slowly read this statement; “Don’t think of your vehicle sitting outside.

What did you just do?

If you did as I asked you to do, you immediately pictured your car, truck, or whatever you drive sitting out in your driveway, your garage, or a parking lot, didn’t you?

You see, the mind doesn’t have the ability to think in “NOT” or “DON’T” terms.

When you put a “negative” spin in your words and thoughts, it’s like your mind INVERTS it to the exact opposite.

This is exactly what happens when we WANT something. Our mind INVERTS the WANT into a picture of LACK – giving us the exact opposite effect of what we really desire.

Can you see what I’m talking about? Do you hear what I’m saying? Are you getting the feel of what I’m writing about?

So now the question is, how does a person get out of the “wilderness” of WANT and LACK and over into the “promised land” of plenty, abundance, and opportunity?

The answer is by focusing on “HAVING”.

Consider the words of Christ in Matthew 25:29 – “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

This makes it very plain that when our attention and focus is on HAVING, we’ll be given more and we’ll have abundance. But, when our focus is on WANTING, we’re going to lose whatever we’ve gained up to this point.

It’s now quite clear why King David said, “I shall not WANT”, isn’t it?

One of the many variations of the previously quoted scripture and concept is found in Luke 8:18 – “Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

In this verse, Christ is telling us the same thing as in the previous verse but makes an important distinction, “Take heed therefore how ye hear”.

In other words, of all the information coming to you through your five physical senses, how are you “hearing” the information? How are you thinking about it? How do you “feel” about it?

For many, the information coming in through the senses produces fear, doubt, uncertainty, anxiety, want, lack, and poverty. This isn’t going to give us what we desire, is it? That’s why Christ is telling us to be careful how we hear, think, and feel.

There’s another piece to HAVING that which we desire. In Mark 11:23, we read, “He shall HAVE whatsoever he saith.

Start talking as if you HAVE that which you desire.

I now ask you to mentally “bookmark” and “highlight” this two-word phrase; “Experientially Having”.

Here’s what I want you to get out of this phrase; let go of the “wanting” and start EXPERIENCING the “having” in any way that you can whether MENTALLY, VERBALLY, or PHYSICALLY.

As you find yourself going about your day, remember, “Experientially Having” is YOUR key to all the abundance and success you desire.

And, as you go through day after day remembering to focus on “Experientially Having”, keep in mind that Christ told us that FAITH is like a “seed” (Matthew 17:20).

Whether you see anything yet or not, KNOW that the continuously held process of “Experientially Having” will ABSOLUTELY cause that which you desire to start sprouting roots and growing within God’s HIDDEN SOIL of the Universe and at God’s appointed time, it will BURST OUT into your physical world – YOURS TO FULLY ENJOY.

Then, as you’re enjoying God’s blessings and abundance, be sure to use it to build up and expand the Kingdom of God.

Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Lane Fox

Funny, How We Get The Time Thing Backwards…

When we are having fun, time flies by. It all happens so fast.

If we aren’t careful, good times will be nothing more than a blur that’s over with before we know it because we didn’t slow down to savor the moment.

Then, someone will ask how it was and we’ll say something like, “It was great”. And they’ll ask back, “What was great about it?” And we can’t really tell them because we were busy flying through it and weren’t really paying attention.

But now, let’s consider the other side of this coin…

When things are bad, when we are going through hard times, when the trials and difficulties of life come our way, it’s like time stops.

We start thinking that it will always be like this. We start believing that it’s forever. We get caught up in the emotions that it will never get better, that we’re forever doomed.

And we don’t even wait for someone to ask, we just start telling everyone we can get to half-way listen how bad it is – in full detail. I mean, we can give more gory details about how bad our situation is than the listener would ever want to hear. When tough times come, it’s amazing how quickly we can develop a full, clear picture of it and how clearly we can articulate it.

Is it just me or are we all crazy for doing this?

Here’s what I suggest…

During those times of goodness and fullness of life that God has for us, let’s slow down time by paying more attention to:
  • The vibrancy of colors
  • The spectrum of sounds
  • The range of feelings
  • The vastness and depth of sights
  • The fabulous tastes of life
  • The amazing smells of renewal, growth, and refreshment

As we experience good times, let’s imagine that we will soon be required to give a complete description of our “good time” to someone who’s never experienced anything like it. Let’s capture every little nuance and every little detail. Let’s become aware and alive. Let’s get the real experience of it. And then let’s share it with someone so that they become inspired to enjoy life more fully too.

Then, when those not-so-pleasant times come, let’s just learn whatever lessons we can glean from them. Let’s grow from them in every way that we can. And, as we’re learning and growing, let’s dismiss all the negative and gory details as insignificant.

In this way, we’ll just let those bad times fly by and slow down those good times so we can fully enjoy them.

What do you think?

Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Lane Fox

YOU Must Be A Pretty Special Person…

I was thinking of you...

It takes courage to continue walking forward in faith in the face of disappointments and setbacks. You worked so hard. You put so much into it. You gave it all your emotional and physical energy. And then, right before your very eyes, your hopes and dreams were dashed.

It’s at this point that other people develop a strong case of “NOSTALGIA” – but not you. Others start thinking BACKWARDS to what they remember as “good” times when everything was “ok” – but not you.

These other people let their memory build a beautiful picture of the past that becomes irresistible to them – but not you.

“Besides,” they say, “my hopes and dreams didn’t work out anyway, right? Why fight it? It’s too much. It’s too hard. It wears on the nerves.”

And they gave up. They forsook their dreams and went BACKWARDS – but not you.

Only problem was, their memory served them WRONG! Their memory fabricated a false picture of the past. The past wasn’t nearly as great as they remembered it. Even if it was “ok”, God isn’t interested in sitting still. God’s interested in moving forward, onward, upward, to bigger, better, greater, grander, more wonderful things in YOUR life and His Kingdom.

You kept in mind the story found in Numbers chapter 11 where the Children of Israel started talking about how great Egypt was. How they remembered the vegetables but forgot about the slavery, the abuse, and the killing of their children. They started looking BACKWARDS and “the anger of the LORD was greatly kindled” against them.

But you didn’t let yourself do this, did you.

I’m glad you realize that God doesn’t want you looking BACKWARDS.

I’m glad you realize that God has something better for you as you go FORWARD in faith.

Those hopes and dreams that you have? That’s God wanting to express Himself through YOU.

Even in the face of disappointments and setbacks, you realize that God is making you. When those hopes and dreams were dashed, that wasn’t failure. That was God teaching you and making you. You saw that, didn’t you?

For others, when events don’t match up with what they WANT to happen, they tend to start thinking of them in a negative way. They tend to view them as failures – and then they allow their emotions and feelings to take over – and then they start going BACKWARDS.

But you didn’t.

You remembered that God commands us to “walk by faith” and not by our emotions and feelings.

I see that you realize, believe, and accept that everything that is happening in your life is working together for your good.

That’s absolutely amazing! There’s not very many people like you.

I hear you remembering God’s words found in Isaiah 48:17 – “Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.”

And as you remember these words, you threw away your disappointment and discouragement. You said that, “No matter how it may seem or feel, everything in my life is right on plan and on target. It’s all good! God has great things that He’s leading me TOWARDS.”

And now, you’re letting that beautiful smile of yours break out on your face as you realize that it is going to be PROFITABLE for you AND for God.

And, as you think of this, God is looking at you with a heart full of love, with tears of happiness and excitement in His eyes as HE sees ALL the GOOD that HE IS PERFORMING and is going to PERFORM in YOUR life.

I mean WOW! The Almighty God of Heaven and Earth with all His power, might, and creation – and His eye and focus is on making GOOD in YOUR LIFE!

You know, in a lot of ways, you remind me of a man in the Bible... A man named Joseph who went from dreamer, to slave, to convict, to GOVERNOR.

Yes, you must be a pretty special person.

Saying Yes To Wealth and Success…

There are many differences between the wealthy and the poor – the successful and the unsuccessful – but here is one major difference that I’ve seen a lot of lately…

Imagine that an idea or a suggestion is presented to you.

What are you going to do with it?

How are you going to handle it?

How are you going to respond to it?

Maybe I should ask my question this way… Are you going to tear the idea or suggestion down or are you going to build it up?

You see, the poor and the unsuccessful hear an idea or suggestion and they’ll immediately go to work coming up with all the reasons why it won’t work, why it can’t happen, why it’s a bad idea, how it’s too dangerous or expensive or too whatever. They’ll continue on until they’ve completely bombed, destroyed, and tore down the idea or suggestion.

Even if deep inside they think it’s a good idea or suggestion, they’ll still respond to it in a negative way.

On the other hand, the wealthy and successful will entertain the idea or suggestion. You’ll hear them say things like:
  • “Hmmm… That’s really interesting.”
  • “That has a lot of possibility…”
  • “That’s really good… You know we could take that, and add in … and really go somewhere with that…”
  • “I like that… Is there anything else we need to consider to make that work?”
  • “What a wonderful idea. How could we make that a reality?”
  • “Hey! That’s a sharp idea…”
  • “Wow! That’s pretty smart. I like the way you’re thinking…”

The wealthy and successful take an idea or suggestion as something that is rife with possibility and immediately go to work mentally thinking about how they can improve it, make it better, and then implement it.

Quite a different response, is it not?

Sad thing is, most people fall into the former category of negative thinkers. But, it’s not entirely their fault… It started when they were little kids… Someone TAUGHT them how to think negative…

The other day, a 7 year old girl was telling me what a good idea it would be to have a small ice-box inside a car so that a person could have a soda whenever they wanted – and they wouldn’t even have to stop at McDonald’s or convenience store to have a cold pop.

Be honest with yourself now… How would you have responded to this child’s idea? Would you have told her that is a fantastic idea and encouraged her to keep on dreaming up great ideas? Or, would you have told her that it was a silly idea and besides, it would be too dangerous to have an ice-box in a car?

Ideas and the suggestions…

In your life…

In the children’s lives that you have influence over…

Are you building them up or tearing them down?

Want to know what God does? Take a look at Job 22:23 - "If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up."

A Few More Words About What You Are Saying…

Here are a few more verses for you to consider:

"Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth." Proverbs 6:2

"Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few." Ecclesiastes 5:2

"In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise." Proverbs 10:19

Over and over, the Bible makes it plain that fear, unbelief, and doubt are sin.

For most people, the more they talk, the more chance there is that they’ll start speaking fear, unbelief, and doubt.

“Spewing” is where words just start pouring out without thought or consideration – which means it’s highly unlikely that they are positive and creative words that are in line with God’s Word.

“Refraining your lips” means that you are careful to ensure your words are positive and creative and that they build up – both in your own life and in the lives of others.

Now, let’s bring it right on down – up close and personal…

Matthew 12:34-35 tells us:

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Jesus is plainly stating that whatever is in a person’s heart, that’s what they are going to talk about which is exactly what’s going to be manifested in their circumstances and affairs.

Next, let’s look at what the next two verses say (Matthew 12:36-37):

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

What are “IDLE” words?

Idle words are words that are negative, fear-based, unbelief-based, and doubt-based.

IDLE WORDS BRING FORTH EVIL.

Idle words bring forth evil both in your life and in the lives of others.

In straightforward terms, you are going to give account for everything that you are speaking besides that which is good and that which blesses.

You’ll be justified on judgment day by the good that you brought forth through Godly, positive, faith-based words.

You’ll be condemned on judgment day for the evil you brought forth through ungodly, negative, fear-based, doubt-based words.

It’s pretty simple isn’t it?

Watch what you say.

Watch what you say because it matters in this world and it will matter in the next world.

All-Around Success Starts Here…

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples." John 15:7-8

These two verses reveal incredible insight into the way God thinks:
  • Anything you ask and say CONTINUOUSLY (abide) that is in harmony with God’s Word will be manifested in your life.
  • When you ask and speak God’s Word in faith, which brings about the manifestation, the fruit – God is glorified. In other words, it’s when you go about manifesting the unseen, the impossible, the wonderful, the grand by faith in and harmony with God’s Word that God is glorified.
  • It’s only when you are doing this manifesting that you become a disciple.
  • If you are not asking for what you will and seeing it manifested in your life, then you are not giving glory to God and you are not His disciple.

This verse reveals that there are two elements needed for you to obtain the all-around success you desire.

The first element of success is quite straightforward – “If ye abide in me”. Having everything you want and need (physically, mentally, and spiritually) starts with whether or not you are abiding in Christ.

Either you are or you aren’t.

Either you’ve surrendered you life to Christ or you haven’t.

If you haven’t fully surrendered to Christ – Do It! Get on the right track. You’re only hurting and hindering yourself if you haven’t surrendered.

The second element of all-around success is thinking and speaking in harmony with God’s Word – “If…my words abide in you”.

Does God’s Word abide in you?

Is The Word of God engrafted in you?

Is it such a part of you that the majority of your thoughts, the bulk of your actions, the greater part of your responses are IN LINE with God’s Word?

Or, do you find yourself governed by, believing in, and reacting to what you see, feel, and hear?

In a sense, it has to do with which way are you looking.

Are you enjoying today, doing good today, and looking forward to the positives of the future?

Or, are you grumbling and complaining about the problems and difficulties of today while reliving, rehashing, and dwelling upon the negatives of the past?

Start paying attention to YOUR words. Make sure they match up with God’s Word. You'll appreciate and enjoy the success they bring to every area of your life - spiritual, family, health, financial, etc.

My “Chicken” Story…

As a boy I was raised on a farm.

My Dad always had at least 30 – 40 chickens running around

After meals, my Mother would have me take the food scraps out to the chickens.

As soon as the chickens would see and hear me dumping the scraps out, they would come running helter skelter from all over the barnyard.

The first 3-4 chickens to reach the scrap pile would grab a morsel and go running off in the opposite direction.

And then with absolute certainty and predictability, a very odd thing would happen…

All of the remaining chickens would QUIT running towards the big pile of scraps I had just dumped.

They would TURN AWAY and start chasing after those first 3-4 chickens who had grabbed their own morsel…

And the fight was on…

Chickens fighting with each other over morsels…

And all the while, they were completely ignoring the SOURCE of abundant food that I had just dumped out for them.

Have you ever seen people act like that?

Have you ever acted like that?

Like I’ve said before, GOD is the SOURCE for all the ABUNDANCE you could want.

Quit worrying about whatever morsel other chickens have…

Quit chasing other chickens trying to compete for their small morsel…

Instead, start looking to God as your SOURCE of ABUNDANCE.

I think you'll like what you get from God a lot better than what you've got from man up to this point.

A Story Of Two Young Men…

See if you can relate to this true story…

Two young men were the best of friends. They went to church together and got along fabulously. They went to school together with never a trace of difficulty in their relationship. They enjoyed many church-related trips together. These two men spent hours talking about things they were interested in with never a disagreement or a strong word.

But then, these two young men went to work for the same company and reported to the same boss…

Suddenly, one of these young men started manifesting a very cranky, competitive, and paranoid spirit. He was just sure his “friend” was trying to gain an advantage over him. He was sure that his “friend” was trying to maneuver in closer to the boss. He was sure that his “friend” was trying to get the better tasks, leaving him “out in the cold” with the less enjoyable tasks.

Have you ever found yourself in a position where you felt like other people were trying to gain the advantage over you and maneuver their way over you where they could “shut you out”?

If so, pay careful attention to what you’re about to read.

This young man who became cranky, competitive, and paranoid allowed the spirit of this world to blind his eyes to the abundance that God has for him.

See, the worlds view is that there everything is finite and limited.

The worlds view is that the money that can be paid out in salaries is limited and therefore, the “many” employees must compete for the “few” pay raises.

The worlds view is that there are only so many promotion opportunities and therefore, the “many” people must be compete for the “few” opportunities.

The worlds view is to try to get “what they can see”.

When a higher-level job opportunity appears within a given department, most everyone within that department will “see” the opportunity at which point they will start clamoring, competing, and even fighting for it.

But, Gods way is DIFFERENT and BETTER!

In God’s way, you don’t have to compete for limitation and lack. Instead, you get to CREATE abundance.

How do you transition from competing to creating?

It starts by changing your focus to pleasing the Lord instead of trying to please men. When you are focused on pleasing the Lord, you will automatically perform at your highest level possible.

You will automatically strive to be the best that you can possibly be.

Colossions 3:23-24 says it this way – “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”

Did you catch the phrase, “Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive”?

Here’s the thing. When you focus on pleasing the Lord, then the Lord will create opportunities out of nothing for you. The Lord will create opportunities for advancement, growth, increase, and abundance that you cannot even see yet.

Here’s proof that God will do what I’m saying…

Isaiah 43:19 – “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

Do you see the depth and power of God’s Word?
  • “New things” – opportunities for increase that you hadn’t recognized or thought about before
  • “It shall spring forth” – opportunities for increase will appear that you were not able to see before
  • “I will even make a way in the wilderness” – to the world everything looks like limitation, lack, and scant resources but out of this “nothing” God will create abundance for you
  • “Rivers in the desert” – deserts don’t have rivers – that’s why they are deserts. But with God all things are possible. It might appear that what you want isn’t available. It may seem like its not an option. But God can and will create the abundance that you want out of the impossible. Notice the word Rivers. This isn’t one trickle of water. This isn’t even a stream of water. It’s big and multiple Rivers of water. That’s the kind of abundance God will create in your life.

When you are focused on pleasing the Lord, the Lord will automatically present opportunities for abundance in your life.

The Lord will create a way where there is no way.

Make sure you get this. You don’t have to compete.

Instead, focus on doing all as unto the Lord. Be the best that you can be.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

This means help your neighbor obtain the increase that he or she is looking for realizing that God has an over-abundance and there is plenty for your neighbor to have all that he or she wants and for you to have all that you want.

Have a merry countenance (a big smile) like the Bible talks about. Perform acts of kindness and love at every opportunity.

And when you do these things, you’ll soon find Psalms 115:14 to be true in your life, “The LORD shall increase you more and more”

This is a concept that applies to all areas of your life – financial, health, relationships, and so on.

But I don’t know what God’s will is for my life?

Here’s the first thing you need to be clear on…

Job 36:5 - " Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom."

This lets you know that you are IN.

By surrendering your life to Christ, you automatically make it IN to God's CLUB - where HE will work through you.

There are plenty of clubs formed by men that may be inaccessible to you.

But, the biggest, most important club of all - God's club - is freely available to you and He will in no way despise or reject you.

So, the first thing you need to settle is that through Christ, you are a member of God’s club and God WILL perform HIS will through the members of His club – including you.

Now, here’s the next thing you need to know…

Job 5:8-9 - "I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause: Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number"

Proverbs 3:5-6 says - " Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

Isaiah 48:17 – “Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.”

From these scriptures you can see that you are to commit your way unto the Lord and He will perform great things in your life and do great things through you – both financially and otherwise.

But, patience is required. Our human nature is to want the big and great things right now. We don't want to wait.

However, God in His great goodness and wisdom knows that each of us needs a time of preparation to get us ready for Him to work through.

In fact, what you must understand is that if you will remain faithful, it's during those seemingly hard times of where nothing is happening the way you want them to that God is actually preparing you so that He can do great things through you.

Consider these Biblical examples of God preparing:
  • Joseph, the great deliver for Israel. He spent years as a slave and then more years in a jail while God prepared him to be great
  • Moses, the great deliver for Israel. He spent years in Egypt and then more years in the desert before he was fully qualified for God to work through Him.
  • Jesus, the Savior of the World. According to what we understand from the Bible and history, Jesus himself spent 30 years allowing God to prepare him so that God could work through him during the last 3 years of his life.
  • Paul, the Apostle of Jesus Christ. After his conversion, he spent years hiding out in the desert learning from God.

And there hundreds of other examples besides these.

Now, I’m not suggesting that you have to spend time in the desert or in a jail in order for God to work through you. But, I am telling you that the Bible makes it clear that God prepares us for His work, for His Kingdom, and He will glorify His name in our lives.

Now, having said all of this, there are some things that you can get started with right away that will pave the way to God doing bigger and bigger works in your life.

Mt 25:34-40 - “Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungered, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

James 1:27 – “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

Scriptures like these tell us that it is God’s will that we perform acts of kindness and love at any and every opportunity.

Perhaps the best example of how important it is to do acts of kindness for our fellow man or woman is in the book of Job. Throughout this entire book, you can read of Jobs acts of kindness. And, it was these very acts of love and kindness that led Job to great wealth and affluence.

And, it will for you too.

So, how does a person know what God’s will is for their life?

Well, there will be some times where it is very clear what God’s will is and times when it is not clear at all.

But, you can rest assured that whether you see what God’s will is for you or not, God has great things that He is either doing through you – and you just can’t see it yet. Or, He is preparing you so that He can do great things through you at a future time.

So, hold to the vision of God working through you and doing great things in your life. Every day give praise and thanks to God for the great things that He is doing in your life (even if you can’t see anything yet).

And one day, you’ll recognize with surprise that God is performing His will through you and that He is doing great things through you.

NOTICE: This is a deprecated (old, not-used, not-updated, not-serviced) blog that's here only for old links sake. Please visit our new blog or our sitemap

I know why you don't have what you really want...

What is it that is holding you back from what it is that you really want? What is it that is preventing you from POSSESSING that which you really desire?

I know the answer…

The pure, plain, and simple answer is that you have a FEAR OF FAILING!

Go back to a time when your imagination was really soaring, really start mentally enjoying what it is that you want to do, be, and have…

Your imagination is “running free”. The things you see in your imagination are great. They are wonderful. They are beautiful. Amazing things are happening. The spectacular is just a matter of course, it’s a glorious world…

And then it happens…

Like a frigid blast from the North Pole that instantly freezes everything…

Your mind runs a few short scripts that sound like this:
  • What if I make a fool out of myself?
  • What if I fall flat on my face?
  • What if I lose everything I’ve got?

And immediately, YOU SLAM ON THE BRAKES to the beautiful world that exists in your imagination that could just as easily exist in your external world was it not for your fear.

Fear is YOUR GREATEST ENEMY.

Why?

Because fear is a paradox. If you fear failure, then you are guaranteed to fail every time. This is the paradox of fear.

If you fear failure, you will fail each and every time. It’s as simple as that and it’s totally guaranteed.

Your fear of failure is ITSELF the biggest failure. Did you get that? The biggest failure is to fear failure.

Because you fear failure, you decide to play it “safe”.

But I must ask you…

Safe from what?

Safe from all the great, wonderful, beautiful, spectacular, amazing things that you could do, be, and have?

Think about that.

Do you really want to be safe from the good and wonderful life that God would like to give you?

Do you really want to “play it safe”, repeating this same “fear of failure” pattern your whole life, until at the last, you come down to death’s bed, never having really lived, never having really accomplished anything great in the Kingdom of God?

Is this what you really want?

Why is it that people always run these self-defeating, negative lines that shut them down? Why don’t they run positive lines that lead them on to accomplishing and achieving great things?

One of my favorite examples of the right way to think can be found in 1 Samuel 14:6-7 “And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few. And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.

Did you see the powerful script that was played in Jonathan’s mind? The script that Jonathan lived by was:

  • Come, and let me __<fill in the blank with something great and wonderful>__: it may be that the LORD will work for me: for there is no restraint to the LORD to __<fill in the blank with something great and wonderful>__.

In this story, Jonathan has an amourbearer. Let me ask you, who is your armourbearer? Who is your shield and buckler? Who is your strength? THE LORD IS!

And it is my full belief that if you have a desire to do great things in God’s Kingdom, then the LORD is saying the same thing to you that Jonathan’s armourbearer said to him, “Do all that is in thine heart. I am with thee according to they heart.”

Acts 10:38 tells us that “Jesus of Nazareth…went about doing good…for God was with him”. And, we know from the Bible, that Jesus was “God in the flesh” and that “if we’ve seen Jesus, we’ve seen the Father”.

My point is that God is a GOOD GOD who wants GOOD IN YOUR LIFE and who wants you to do GOOD IN HIS KINGDOM.

It is important to lay aside your fear of failure so that God can do good things in your life and through your life. But, there’s another reason why it’s important for you to lay aside your fear of failure…

Revelations 21:8 describes to us a list of sins that if committed will absolutely doom our souls to hell.

Guess what is at the top of God’s list?

Answer: The fearful.

Go back through this article. Read through it. Meditate on it. Build yourself some new, positive scripts. Every time you catch yourself playing one of those old negative scripts, tell yourself:

I reject these negative thoughts because they are not of God. Instead, I choose to believe in God and believe that He wants to do great things for me and through me.

Peace, Love, and Blessings,
Lane Fox
