You Be The Success Coach Today...
Sometimes, a person can help themselves the most by turning their attention away from their own situation and giving thought to another person’s situation and considering what the other person could do in order to be more successful.
In doing that, it’s amazing how new ideas and new realizations come to one’s mind for their own situation.
So, with that, I present to you an email that a woman sent me and I’m asking you to consider her situation and leave a comment below based on your thoughts and suggestions.
If you’ll participate and contribute a comment, I believe this could really be educational for everyone.
Here’s her story:

“I am desperate and even more than advice my family needs money. So I would like to know what you would do in my situation.
My husband works very hard. I am a stay home wife/mom. We have four children, 13, 10, 3, and 21 months. I am home because even if I worked, most if not all of my check would go towards child care for my two toddlers.
We have done credit counseling and was advised to file bankruptcy. We don't have enough money left from our day to day living, to pay off bills. Well we can't even afford to file bankruptcy! We need 900 dollars for that, and don't have it.
I have an ebay store and I blog and it seems as though everything we try, we can't get a grip on things, and still can't pay our bills. We don't have credit cards and our credit is so bad we have to pay cash for everything anyway.
We have a family friend who hit a 14 million dollar lottery and gambled it all away at the Casino. Why? My husband and I just want to be debt free and be able to buy a house for our family, and not have to worry about where the rent and grocery money is going to come from.
If we were blessed with 200,000.00 dollars you can best believe we would make the most of it, including helping who we can with what we can. There are rich people who bet that much money on golf games.
Do you know of any who would help a family like mine? Where are the millionaires for Jesus that would take a family like mine and give us a chance for a brand new start?”

she's focussing completely on lack.
Jesus says to ask God by thanking him for it... It always works too.
You have a husband who loves you and the kids; you are all healthy; and this too shall pass. Just hang in there.
Good luck sister you are in my prayers.
First, you need to be congratulated for not having any credit cards. Keep paying cash for things and you can eventually get out of your financial distress and become debt free which appears to be your goal. As far as your credit goes, don't worry about that. It's not that important now. When you're ready and able to buy a house, there are ways to purchase even with not-so-good credit.
Getting out of debt involves a straightforward step-by-step process. It takes effort and persistence and as long as you understand the steps and are up to the challenge you can succeed.
The first step is to assess where you currently stand with money. How much is coming in and how much is going out. Do you use a money-spending plan? If not, you need to develop a plan for your hard-earned money.
The most important thing about money is your attitude towards it. Money is amoral meaning it's neither good nor bad. It's simply a tool but it needs to be used in a proper way. The Bible is a great guide and has wonderful advice about money and personal finance.
At this point I'm not sure why you need $200,000 but you can eventually accumulate this amount if your willing to follow a proper plan.
As far as bankruptcy goes, I would consider this legal proceeding as a last resort. It can have long-lasting and devastating effects. There are better solutions aside from credit counselors and bankruptcy.
I would be willing to help you help yourself by pointing you in the right direction.
Following are some phrases that I've pulled from this woman's email.
What is the mindset, the attitude, the spirit, the belief system that's behind these phrases?
How is it that the good this woman desires is being blocked?
Who's blocking it?
What might she change to start the flow of good coming to her?

Folks, there are some really important success principles hid in this situation...
First she should change her focus, she is focusing so much on lack than on what she has.
The more she concentrates on the negative the more negativity she will attract.
Please my dear lady, change your attitude, be thankful, you have a loving husband and beautiful kids, you still have a roof over your head, etc. You and your husband should sit down and assess on where you stand on your finances, cash in, cash out. What can you do without that is on your budget, what is not really necessary etc. If there is, the money you save on these can be used to clear debts and also to start a saving scheme. for example if your husband drives to work, maybe he can consider taking a bus or riding a bicycle, this will save on fuel, etc.
Good bless you and give you the much needed insight.
So many thoughts flood my mind to say to you about your situation, but above all I want you to know that God sees your situation and wants to help you but there are some things that he require of you, that is your focus has to be on Him and your faith must be in Him to do exceedingly abundantly above what you may ask or think, you cannot waver but stand firm.some practical things to do have been suggested by others.Take your focus from you and your situation and put it on God.Believe he will show you a way out. Sit with your husband and put a plan in place and pray over it put it in God's control, and listen for him to give directions. He always does,God cannot work with us if there is doubt, fear, disbelief etc,so get in faith, search the scriptures for word that relate to your situation and not only on money but being in faith and spirit.
This dear lady is looking to man instead of to God...she should be asking what can she do for God that would be a blessing to others instead of what can someone do for me....she is focusing on her situation instead of looking up to God and spending some time with Him so she will know what to do...she didn't mention God or Jesus ....she needs to put Him first in her life then everything else will fall into line....
Starting with the good. You have been blessed with a lovely family; a hard working husband and four children, you have a roof over your head and food on the table. That already is a good beginning. It's wonderful that you want to stay home with your children, not only because it doesn't pay financially to work but more importantly because pouring into your childrens' lives will have eternal benefits. Those are great starting points.
The next step is to assess where you are and where you want to go. We don't know from your post where you are financially except that if you have bad credit you must have been spending beyond your means to have gotten in that situation. That may have been outside your control for say large medical expenses or you may have bought things you really could't afford. Only you know the answer to that. What's important at this point is that you remain grateful for what you do have and that you set clear goals and put a plan in place to achieve them. That's means taking a hard look at your income and expenses to see where the opportunities are. I know a young single mom living on $10 an hour who rides a bike over 4 miles a day to take her child to day care and then rides herself to work. This woman is so grateful to God that she has a bike so she doesn't have to walk. She is a very determined lady and has a plan that she works hard at. I understand your frustration. It's easy to look at others we perceive as undeserving (the lottery winner who squantered his wealth)and wonder why God doesn't bless us. But the truth is you already are blessed for the reasons I mentioned above. You asked for someone to give you $200,000. Why that amount I don't know, but the danger in being handed a winfall is that we can actually end up worse off than before. Again look at the lottery winner. Instead of looking to man the next step should be to seek God, with your husband, and then set some goals for your family based on what God shows you. Once you have clear definition on where you want to be you can start to put a place in place to get there. One resourse might be Crown Ministries and Howard Dayton's book "Your Money Map" But it's going to take perserverence. You didn't get where you are overnight and this isn't going to change overnight either. As Lane Fox says, referring to people who want something that someone else has, "Really, they just want something for nothing – and God never supports that model. There is always a sacrifice, there is always a price." I know that's hard to hear but it's true. It's also true that we can learn a lot from the journey. If you remain steadfast and persevere God will meet you along the way in amazing ways. Don't give up.
The lady is very negative and we are warned in Scripture that 'Life and death are in the power of the tongue' and also in Proverbs that 'as a man speaks so is he.' If she wants her Ebay business and blog to succeed she needs to speak life into the business, pray about it,improve her knowledge about online business, have a passion about what she is doing and commit it to the Lord. Scripture says that God gives us power to become wealthy so that we can spread His Covenant abroad. Ask the Holy Spirit for ideas- 'unless the Lord build the house those who labour, labour in vain'.
Instead of trusting God to meet the needs of the family she is looking at others, particularly those with money - thinking that a large injection of cash would solve her problems. It may pay off the bills etc but her mindset will still be the same and in time would end up in the same situation.
Tithing is another Biblical principle and God promises to 'Rebuke the devourer for our sakes'- it's worth reading Deuteronomy 28 to find out about the blessings and the curses.
Repentance about how we have wasted or misused money is not something many of us think about but most of us are probably guilty of. Spend quality time with the Father and give Him your burdens, ask the Holy Spirit to help you with your finances, wisdom is never on short supply from God. Pray together as a couple and discuss how you can cut back so that you have that extra cash to pay off bills. We have a God that can do the impossible but we have to Trust Him and obey Him. Blessings - Mysia
