Have You Made The Decision Yet?

Have you decided to become a Millionaire for Jesus yet?

I didn’t ask if you’ve figured out HOW to become a Millionaire for Jesus yet.

Have you made the decision that you are going to become a Millionaire for Jesus?

You must make a decision on WHAT you want to be in life. Then, you must make sure you have real, legitimate, and important reasons WHY you want to be WHAT you want to be.

Once you resolutely make the WHAT decision for the WHY reasons, the wonderful mind that God has given you will go to work for you figuring out the HOW.

By the way, it is important to understand that the HOW will never come to you without you first making a decision about the WHAT that is backed up by a meaningful and important WHY.

For me, my WHAT is that I am a Multi-Millionaire for Jesus. My WHY is so that I can be a part of building up God’s Kingdom, abounding unto every good work.

What is your WHAT and WHY?

In some cases, people try to be WHAT "others" want them to be – but that won’t work.

What is it that you feel down in your heart-of-hearts that God wants you to be? It’s down in there. You may already know what it is when you get honest with yourself. Or, it may be so pushed down and pushed aside that you can’t see it right now. If that’s the case with you, go to the Lord in prayer. All you have to do is ask Him and He will reveal it to you.

Many people never take that first step of deciding WHAT they want to be and so by default they become “nothing” as they go through the motions of life.

But, that’s not you… is it?

Where Are They Going?

Let’s imagine for a moment that you and your family decide that you are going to take a little 4-day weekend get-away trip. Further, let’s imagine that you are already a Millionaire For Jesus and so money is not a problem.

What is the first thing that you and your family would start thinking about?

If you are like most people, you would start by asking yourselves “where do we want to go?”

Now, let’s imagine that as you and your family are trying to decide where you want to go, some salesperson barges in and starts trying to sell you a car by telling you all about the wheels, the engine, the interior, the dimensions, the specifications, etc.

Do you care about a car at this point? Of course not! And, you sure don’t care about all of the details of this car.

You don’t care because you are trying to figure out and decide where you are going for your weekend get-away – not how you are going to get there. And in fact, even when you do start thinking about how you are going to get there, the details about the car (or whatever form of transportation you choose to use) really does not matter to you.

The fact is, you are focused on where you are going and the enjoyment you are going to experience when you get there.

Guess what. Those people to whom you want to sell your KEABA are going somewhere. And, they are focused on what it’s going to be like when they get there. They are not focused on the details of the vehicle that is going to take them there.

Now, this fabricated example may seem a bit absurd but it is exactly what so many salespeople do day in and day out. They barge into their marketplace touting all of their details and specifications and they never even think about where it is that their marketplace is really trying to get to. And they wonder why doors get slammed in their face and why they have such a hard time selling.

You want to take a different approach – a much easier approach. When you go to offer your KEABA to your marketplace, start by asking them questions about where they are going and what they are looking for when they get there. Then, you will be able to position your KEABA in terms that relate to them and that are important to them.

Can you see how your sales success will be much higher?

But let’s not forget about the SRS Formula we talked about in the previous post.

Here’s a question for you… Would one weekend get-away be enough to last you for the rest of your life?

If you are like most people, the answer is emphatically NO!

Is it possible that even as our imaginary family was planning their weekend get-away that we could together start sketching some rough plans for the next get-away? Of course it is.

So, all the while you are talking with your marketplace about where they are going, you should also be planting the seeds of them using you to help them get to where they are going after they get to where they are going right now.

On an ongoing basis, your marketplace is going somewhere. Use your KEABA to help them get there – again and again!

The SRS Formula…

In order for you to be a Millionaire For Jesus, you must be able to repeat your success over and over.

You must be able to conduct business transactions over and over where you earn a profit from each transaction. You need income coming in to you that you can repeat over and over – and that you can easily repeat.

To be a Millionaire For Jesus, you must be “worth” a million dollars because of the value that you provide to others through your products and services that you repeatedly sell on a sustainable basis.

This is a very different model from trying to be “worth” a million dollars by providing value as an employee in someone else’s business. Hopefully I made it clear in the last post that trying to get to big money as an “employee” isn’t sustainable or repeatable.

On the other hand, a Millionaire For Jesus is someone whose business and net worth is based on Sustainable and Repeatable Sales (SRS).

So, start thinking about how you are going to sell your KEABA (defined in previous posts) to others in a sustainable and repeatable pattern. Then, put the SRS Formula to work for you so that you can go to work for Jesus.

Don’t Have Your Livelihood Depending Upon A Job

Let’s pretend for just a moment that you are one of the few “lucky” people who are in a good, high-paying job. Consider these real examples …

You are a man who has fully paid medical and dental benefits, 3 weeks paid vacation every year plus an additional 1 week of paid personal time off plus many other benefits. Your work is easy. In fact, on a hard day, you might work the equivalent of 5 hours and most days you work far less – even though you are paid for a full 8 hours. For all of this, you are paid $45 per hour which is almost $94,000 a year. What do you do in this “cushy” job? You drive a fork-lift in a unionized automotive plant.

Sound like the kind of job you would like to have?

In another company, things are really “humming’! Business is good, employees are performing, and customers are happy. Business is so good in fact that every executive on the executive team has had their base salary automatically increased to $1,000,000 per year. In addition, every employee has had their salary increased to 25% - 50% over the current market rate.

Think you would like to be in a situation like this?

There is only one problem with these “ideal” situations. They aren’t sustainable nor are they repeatable.

In the case of the fork-lift driver, he worked at this job for several years – long enough for him and his family to expand (and over-extend) their lifestyle to $94,000+ per year – and then the automotive plant had a mass layoff.

10 years later, this man and his family are still trying to recover from financial ruin.

In the case of the “humming” company, everything went fine for a few years until some things happened that were outside of the control of this company and its employees and in a matter of a few months this company went from “high on the hog” to shut down.

6+ years later, these people are still trying to recover from the disaster of losing their high-paying jobs.

Again, the “perfect” job is nearly impossible to find and when you do find one, they usually don’t last very long.

Think about it. Who else is going to pay you almost $94,000 a year to drive a fork-lift? Who else is going to pay you 25% - 50% above market rate for your job?

But what if you are in an average business getting paid average wages?

Take a hard look at yourself and those around you. Are you and those around you really performing? Are you really adding value? Are you really contributing to the profits of the company?

If you are an average employee in an average company, the truth is that you and those around you are performing at about ½ to ¾ of your potential. This means that you and those around you are over-paid.

And, when you see a business that is full of under-performing and over-paid employees, you are seeing a business that is going to “pay the piper” sooner or later. It’s not a question of “if” it’s a question of “when”.

God isn’t interested in you being in a model where your livelihood is at risk and in jeopardy. As a Christian, you need to be in a different business model. That’s our next discussion…

Here’s the kind of seller you want to be…

Think about all of the “sellers” that you encounter over the course of a week – whether in your place of business, in other people’s businesses, on the radio or TV, or wherever it is that you encounter them.

Are they really trying to help you?

Or, are they trying to convince you and others to buy their next “knick-knack” or “gadget” that has fleeting usefulness and value?

This is not the kind of seller you want to be. Here’s the kind of seller you want to be:

  • Romans 12:10 – “Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love.” With a heart full of care, sell as if you were selling to your brother. As a Christian, you obviously wouldn’t sell anything to your brother that didn’t have lasting value and usefulness.
  • Romans 13:10 – “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour.” Never sell anything from which you would gain but your customer would not.
  • 1 Peter 1:22 – “See that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.” We are to love God, ourselves, and others. When we do, then we are only interested in true win-win situations – situations where you, your customer and God’s Kingdom are benefited on a long-term basis. When you sell in this kind of a model, your success is sure to come.
  • 1 John 3:18 – “Let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” You aren’t looking to “slick-talk” customers into doing business with you. You are looking to demonstrate that you care about them and that you are able to offer them something of lasting usefulness and value.
  • Mark 10:21 – “Then Jesus beholding him loved him.” In Mark 10, we see the story of Jesus trying to “sell” a rich man on becoming a Millionaire For Jesus instead of a millionaire for himself. As Jesus goes to “close” the sale, He looks upon his “customer” and He “loved him”. When you are selling, make sure that you love your customers and your sincerity will come shining through.

A Millionaire For Jesus is a SELLER who LOVES and HELPS people.

Here’s How To Make Sure Your Business Wins…

Was God competing with some other entity when He created the Heavens and the Earth?

Of course not! If anything, He was “competing with Himself”. We see this because He looked at it and saw that “it was very good” (Genesis 1:31).

In the same vein, if you are to become Millionaires For Jesus, you must move away from “competing with others” (like the world does) and you must start focusing on “competing with yourself”.

What does this mean?

It means that as you bring your KEABA (see previous posts) to the market place:
  1. You aren’t worrying about the competition
  2. You are really focused on a deep understanding of the What, Why, When, Where, and How of people who are interested in your KEABA
  3. You are focused on how you can provide more and better products and services to those who are interested in your KEABA – the kinds of products and services that makes things better for them in their world
  4. You are focused on how you can make it easier, better, faster, cheaper, etc. for those who are interested in your KEABA to do business with you
  5. You go back to the top of this list and start all over striving to become even better than before
You see, when you are worrying about the competition and you are competing with the competition, you move into a world where everyone is playing “copy-cat”. You move into a world where everyone is playing “leap-frog”. You are in a competitive world.

In the competitive world, this week, month, or year someone else is the best. So, you go copy everything they are doing plus a little more and you “leap-frog” them for this week, month, or year. Then, they copy what you’ve done and add a little more, and they “leap-frog” you.

This week, month, or year, you have more of the customers. Next week, month, or year, they have more of the customers. And, the cycle continues.

Obviously, you can never really win in this kind of a model.

And, there’s another key problem with the competitive model – you are primarily focused on what your “competition” is doing.

But, when you DO the things listed in the bulleted list above, you step out of the world of “competing” and into the world of “creating”. This is important because when you start “creating”, you are able to create your own “game” with your own “rules” – all designed so that you and those who are interested in your KEABA win.

In the “creative” model, your focus is entirely upon those who are interested in your KEABA – and that’s where it should be. In this "creative" model, no one will ever be able to touch you – because this is “your” game and they are in a different game.

Secret Verse #3

If you haven’t read “Secret Verse #1 & #2 yet, scroll down and read them first…

We find the third secret verse to becoming a Millionaire For Jesus in Proverbs 11:26, “Blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth.”

If you are going to become a Millionaire For Jesus, you must become a SELLER.

Being a seller doesn’t mean that you have to become an unethical, greasy, “slick-Willy”, car-salesman type of seller who is out to cheat and beat everyone he or she can.

Being a seller means bringing your KEABA (see previous posts) to the marketplace and helping those people who are interested in your KEABA in positive and beneficial ways. Being a seller means presenting win-win products and services to other people.

If you are uncomfortable with the word “seller”, you might think of yourself as becoming a purveyor. A purveyor is someone who supplies and furnishes people with provisions (products) and services.

Of the 6,500,000,000 people in the world today, there are plenty of people who could benefit and profit from you supplying and furnishing them with your KEABA.

So now you need to be thinking about having your own business and what products and services your business is going to be selling.

There’s more coming…

Secret Verse #2

We find the second secret verse to becoming a Millionaire For Jesus in Proverbs 28:19, “He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread.

The phrase “He that tilleth” lets us know that we have to take action. It tells us that we must create something that has value. It tells us that we should work on something worthwhile. It lets us know that we are to develop something that will produce a “harvest” – something that has a greater result at the end compared to what we put into it at the beginning.

Now, here’s the “secret” word upon which your success hinges… “his”!

Notice that this person isn’t tilling someone else’s land. He’s tilling “his” land.

This person isn’t working in someone else’s business; he’s developing and working his own business.

In Luke 10:7 Jesus tells us, “for the labourer is worthy of his hire”. If you are tilling someone else’s land, if you are working in someone else’s business, you are worthy of your hire and you will have…

“bread” – enough to get you to your next paycheck.
But here’s where things change, when you till your own land, when you work your own business, you will have…

“PLENTY” of bread.

Do you see the difference?

In future posts, I’ll start sharing some ideas about what kind of business you should have and what it should look like.

Secret Verse #1

We can find the first secret verse to becoming a Millionaire For Jesus in I Thessalonians 4:10-12, “We beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing”.

First of all, we see yet another indication that it is God’s will for us to have plenty in the phrases, “increase more and more” and “that ye may have lack of nothing”.

Now, here’s the secret – “to do your own business, and to work with your own hands”.

Did you notice whose business this was? That’s right, “YOUR OWN”! If you are to be in a position where you have lack of nothing, then you’ve got to have your own business.

Now, moving to the word “work”, Webster’s dictionary defines work as physical and mental effort.

If you are going to become a Millionaire For Jesus, then you must be putting your physical and mental effort into your own business!

Also, pay special attention to the word “do” used in this verse. There is no “passive” waiting around described in this verse. Instead, we are being directed to “urgent action”. It’s as if the Apostle Paul is telling us:

“Get to work in your own business so that you can increase more and more and so that you don’t have lack of anything so that you can get busy doing a work for the Lord!”

Here’s another interesting phrase in this verse, “That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without”. Here are some thoughts about this phrase:
  • If you work for someone else and you are on salary and you come in late, leave early, or have to go take care of some personal business then you are in effect “stealing” from your employer.
  • Because many people who work for someone else are just barely getting by, there is a “pull” to “take” from their employer since they “have plenty” and “they’ll never even miss it”.
  • What kind of a testimony is it to the world if a Christian is so poor that he or she is always living right on the edge of dishonesty and desperation?

Start putting some thought into having your own business.

We’ll be talking more about you having your own business as we go forward.

Peace, Love, and Blessings,
